Type 1 Diabetes is a specific physical condition that requires thorough attention, knowledge and discipline on the part of children and their families. Staying healthy while living with diabetes requires a vast amount of resources including social, psychological, medical, human and financial resources. Unfortunately, many children live in environments which are conducive to the proper control of their disease, due to lack of resources.
Share our desire and sponsor a child for a two-week stay at Camp Carowanis.
The Foundation would like to offer the opportunity to ALL diabetic children in Quebec to stay at Camp Carowanis, no matter what their family situation, where they will live a unique experience based on self-development, self-reliance, respect and balance.
Registration fees are at the lowest point they have ever been, $865 (in 2014) for a two-week stay at the camp. The real cost for the Foundation is more than $3,000 per child, in order to cover healthcare costs, injection supplies, medical and nursing camp personnel, food, and other essential services.
