  • Maximum of 100 campers per session. Maximum of 30 families for the Family Weekend.
  • The camp is closed between sessions.

NB.:

  • The actual cost of one session per camper is near $3000.
  • No diabetic child is refused admission for financial reasons.
  • An amount of $50 is added to the registration fee if registered after deadlines.

 

Registrations

The 2017 registration forms will be mail in February to all families-members of The Diabetic Children’s Foundation. The forms to download are below. Camp Carowanis is offering three two-week sessions of activities for young diabetics 8 to 16 years old or a family weekend for children under age 8 and their family.

Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you need financial assistance, do not hesitate to request or download the confidential financial-aid application form that will be soon available below. The information provided will in no way compromise your child’s acceptance as a camper and will be kept strictly confidential.

Becoming a leader

Camp Carowanis offers to 16-year-old campers an opportunity to get involved with its Leader Program. This program — certified by the Association des camps du Québec — focuses on teamwork and allows participants to become counsellors-in-training.

 


 

Working at camp

Enjoy a change of scenery!

Camp Carowanis is a specialized, bilingual camp for diabetic children age 8 to 16. We are seeking dynamic outdoor enthusiasts to fill the following positions:

  • Counsellors, age 17 and over
  • Kitchen staff, with or without experience, age 17 and over
  • Lifeguards, with National Lifeguard Qualification.
  • Nurses, with Nursing Degree
  • Student nurses, studying in a nursing program
  • Student nutritionists

The working period is from (Coming next January). During this time, our program offers 3 2-weeks sessions in which you have bed and board, as you will be lodged in a tent on a platform equipped with cots. You will have 2 days off between each session. No prior knowledge about diabetes is required. You will have a training of 6 days prior the arrival of children.
